Upcoming Perodua Kelisa replacement?

Perodua has an XX06 Concept Car over at the KL International Motor Show 2006 which begins today, at the Putra World Trade Center. It looks like the concept car is based on the Daihatsu Mira. We’ve been seeing spyshots of a Daihatsu Mira being tested on Malaysian roads lately. Links to the spyshots are available under the Related Posts section below.
Perodua has added their own bumper and grille to this concept. This could be a replacement for the Perodua Kelisa or the Perodua Kancil some time in the future. In my opinion, Perodua already has a car serving the higher-end market segment with the Perodua Myvi. They should just merge the Kancil and Kelisa lines. The Perodua Kelisa has already gone through facelifts and so many special editions since it was introduced back in 2001.
What I’d really like to see is the new
Daihatsu Terios/Daihatsu Be-Go as a replacement for the Perodua Kembara. The 2nd generation Toyota RAV design elements in it look really good.
Anyone going to the KLIMS? I’ll go either this weekend or Monday to cover it. Will be back with lots of photos.

Proton Waja supercharger system by the end of the year 2006

Utusan Malaysia carried a report quoting an unnamed source that Proton would be unveiling a new Proton Waja model which would be equipped with a Kleemann supercharger system by the end of the year 2006. Utusan Malaysia’s reporters were given the opportunity to see the model for themselves at an unnamed place in Malaysia, and they took a photo of it.

Apparently the supercharged engine which we could all assume is the
1.6 Campro or the 1.8 Renault makes in excess of 150 hosepower, and the Waja’s suspension and brake system has also been upgraded. The Waja seems to have a new hood (Utusan reports this will be carbon fibre?!) and grille which looks like Volkswagen and Audi’s nose design. Abandoning the Alfa nose? Makes the car looks like a miniature A4.

Other aesthetic changes include a new bumper, and wing mirrors which have signal lights on them. There is also a new logo which looks like a circle with a letter Z in the middle of it. Could it be called a
Proton Waja Campro 1.6Z?

Proton head of Corporate Communications Yusri Yusuf declined to comment on the matter. Prices are apparently in the RM75,000 to RM80,000 range. Psst, by the way… since the logo has been changed to a Z, this might not even be a Proton, but a tune-up by a third party, emulating the business model of companies like Brabus or Kleemann doing up and rebadging Mercedes Benz cars.

Top 10 portable speaker systems

You want to take your tunes on the road, but headphones don't always cut it, and even the smallest home speakers and receivers/amplifiers aren't portable. Technology has come to the rescue with a new breed of portable speakers that sound a lot better than the tinny models you might remember from the Walkman days. These useful devices are the hot ticket for travelers, dorm rooms, the beach or the office; they plug into iPods, MP3 players, and laptops' headphone jacks, with sound that can easily fill a small to medium-size room.
Some are perfect for frequent travelers, while others are best suited for the office or trips to the beach, and all of them have the option of being powered from built-in or replaceable batteries.

1. Altec Lansing InMotion iM7
The good: Seamless integration with any dock-connecting iPod; eye-catching design; includes remote; charges the iPod while plugged in; works on AC power or batteries; impressive sound with thumping bass; auxiliary line-in port for use with other audio devices.
The bad: No meter display for bass, treble, or volume adjustment; a bit too bulky for ultimate portability; remote can't navigate through menus on the iPod.
The bottom line: The Altec Lansing iM7 offers good sound quality, flexible listening options, and handy features, making it a solid choice for any iPod owner in the market for a complementary sound system.

2. Sonic Impact i-Fusion
The good: The Sonic Impact i-Fusion offers great audio quality in a travel-friendly package and at a reasonable price.
The bad: The Sonic Impact i-Fusion neither includes a remote nor natively accommodates the latest iPod.
The bottom line: The Sonic Impact i-Fusion portable speaker system for the Apple iPod is a compact and efficient powerhouse that enables you to share your music with the world--or at least with those around you.

3. LG Portable Stereo Speakers MSP-100
The good: The LG Portable Stereo Speakers MSP-100 is really tiny, has a rechargeable internal battery, and sounds better than we expected, considering its size.
The bad: There's no volume control on the LG Portable Stereo Speakers MSP-100.
The bottom line: If you're looking for ultracompact speakers that don't sacrifice on sound quality, LG's Portable Stereo Speakers MSP-100 fits the bill--and it won't break the bank.

4. Logitech mm50 Portable Speakers
The good: Travel-friendly folding design; built-in rechargeable battery; includes travel pouch, wall charger, and remote; great sound; acts as an iPod charger when plugged in; line-in port for non-iPod MP3 players.
The bad: Slightly larger than other travel speakers; sound distortion at highest volumes.
The bottom line: The Logitech mm50 Portable Speakers for iPod are useful and affordable--and they sound good, too.

5. Logitech PlayGear Amp
The good: Styled to match the PSP; includes case and adjustable PSP stand; can use both AC adapter and battery power; compatible with any device that has a standard headphone minijack.
The bad: Closer to backpack size than pocket size; weak bass response results in thin sound; exposed speaker cones are vulnerable to damage.
The bottom line: The Logitech PlayGear Amp is a great audio solution for users looking to get more sound out of their movies, music, and games on the PSP.

6. Altec Lansing InMotion iM4
The good: Excellent sound; portable music players fit nicely on the rubberized base; retractable minijack cord; speakers tilt at any angle; can be powered with batteries.
The bad: No remote control; slightly large and heavy compared with other small speaker sets.
The bottom line: The Altec Lansing iM4 finally delivers the bass we've been craving in small portable speakers, and they're not iPod-centric, so you can use them with any MP3 player.

7. JBL On Tour Portable Music Box
The good: Innovative, compact design; high-quality sound.
The bad: Limited controls and extras.
The bottom line: JBL's On Tour is a good choice if you want great-sounding music to share on the road.

8. Creative TravelDock 900
The good: The Creative TravelDock 900's stereo-expanding switch makes music seem bigger, and the speakers pack a decent punch despite their small size.
The bad: Though relatively compact, the Creative TravelDock 900 looks a bit clunky when closed.
The bottom line: The Creative TravelDock 900 puts out some decent power for its size, but it's not as small as one might wish for a low-end portable speaker set.

9. Creative TravelSound 400
The good: We dig the travel-friendly design, the swiveling speakers, and the "enhanced stereo" option of the affordable Creative TravelSound 400.
The bad: Unfortunately, the Creative TravelSound 400 offers virtually no low end, and it distorts at high volume levels.
The bottom line: Creative's TravelSound 400 is a snazzy, compact set of travel speakers with an "enhanced stereo" option that manages to make sound seem more spread out--albeit with very little low end.

10. Think Outside Boomtube H2O1
The good: Think Outside's Boomtube H201 features a slick, eye-catching design and an internal, rechargeable battery for use on the go.
The bad: The pricey Think Outside Boomtube H201 offers so-so bass response, and there's no holder or slot for portable music players.
The bottom line: The overall design of Think Outside's Boomtube H201 might be unique--even cool--but we could have done with a bit more boom.

Cerita Pak Pandir

HANDPHONE

Satu ketika di kampung Pak Pandir jauh di pendalaman Pahang, seorang pegawai kerajaan melihat Pak Pandir mempunyai handphone ...
"Wah Pak Pandir ...ada handphone ...ada coverage ka dekat sini ...?"

Jawab Pak Pandir: "Sini tak ada, tapi kalau encik mahu talipon saya punya handphone, kasi tau sama saya, saya boleh pergi ke bandar Rompin, sana ada coverage"

KONDOM

"Encik, satu longok RM1 sahaja.Tapi kalau encik ambil semua, kira murah...RM20 sahaja."

Tanya lelaki berkenaan : "Berapa longok semuanya?"

Jawab Pak Pandir : "Semuanya 20 longgok ..."

CUTI

Pak Pandir yang bekerja di sebuah kilang sebagai pengawal keselamatan berjumpa dengan manager minta cuti ...

"Tuan saya mahu minta cuti seminggu balik kampung, ada urusan keluarga. Bolehkah?
Jawab manager : "Cuti seminggu ...oklah, saya bagi cuti seminggu.

Selepas 14 hari, baru Pak Pandir balik bertugas.

Tanya si manager : "Kenapa dua minggu cuti?"

Jawab Pak Pandir : "Saya minta seminggu cuti. Tuan bagi seminggu cuti. Jadi dua minggulah ...

The Kota Tinggi Waterfalls

Water Source : River
Accessibility : Public playground
Waterfall profile : One cascade
15 kilometers from Kota Tinggi, Johore State, Malaysia

The place

The Kota Tinggi park was made famous by the river and the waterfall. It is the focal point of the days outing. This is one waterfall that is southernmost and near to urban Singapore. Over the years and growing demands, the Park area was upgraded continuously. To us northerners, we could hardly recognize the place as a forest park. It is as crowded and developed as any theme park that we see in urban Kuala Lumpur.

The area of the park itself is relatively small by our standard. It has a gigantic car park, almost half the area of the park. From the car park to the main waterfall area is a beeline line along the bank of the river. This distance is approximately just below a kilometer.

All the way paved and on the left, the food outlets and stall, on the right, the river itself. There are railing along the banks and the river itself is kept free of rubbish. Picnickers would look for any openings where the water flows and enjoy great outdoor nature in that spot. Water in the stream is hardly more than half meter.

I think the best part of the trip, is to witness an authentic waterfall. made by nature. Of course, the river that flows down from the low hills of Muntahak 634m high cannot be big. Likewise the volume of water through the waterfall was not dramatic at the time this picture was taken.

I would recommend!

This is a good place to bring your children out for the weekends. More appropriate for most urban family who could not find time for more exotic destination. As for plans of having picnic, just have something very simple. Problem! You could not find suitable place to enjoy that day off and justifying the long journey here. Of course within that small confine and the large crowd, cannot expect a very conducive ambience. I only wish that I could say something more cheerful.

How to get there

The road to Kota Tinggi Town from the expressway is very good. Mono-carriage but absolutely straight. With roads in Johore, do expect that long undulations. From the town of Kulai, turn into Highway 94. Cannot remember, must be around 48 kilometers. After arriving in Kota Tinggi town, fairly large, do not continue on the trunk to the East Coast.

Instead look for a road branching north to reach the waterfall.

The area was formerly famous for its iron mines. Nothing is mentioned but you will see traces at the waterfall area. I mention this, there was a small settlement of Lombong in that vicinity
